CAMS ACRES RACING SITE - Coal, Oklahoma

We had a last minute invite from the guys over at Drift Hub to come and drift at the new Cams Acres Racing Site in Coal, Oklahoma! Since this track was only 2.5 hours away from us there was no way we could pass up this opportunity to go burn some tires for fun and with some homies! Once we decided it was a done deal, we hit up Max Fuerst to join us and bang some doors. Our boy Austin Rateliff (who also happens to be our graphic designer) decided he would bring his FRS to get some of his first tandem laps in also!

Below, I’ll share a few highlights of the day and what we enjoyed most!!

FUN. I’ll start by saying this event was an ABSOLUTE blast! It was technically a 2-day event but we were just coming out for the day on Saturday. The fact that we could make this a little “team day trip” was already so rad. It’s truly the best when we can bring the whole team together for a fun and care free day at the track. This means TONS of laps, epic footage and certainly some heightened bravery behind the wheel. LOL.

TRACK. The track was tight and technical and we got to run 2 different layouts. The first layout offered a super fun entry and the second layout offered a little bit more of a “flowy” layout.

TIRES. We learned some new things about our tires! Moral of the story, it’s definitely a wise decision on Nate’s part to warm them up as opposed to running laps with cold tires. Reason being, after a few laps out on the track, we noticed the tires were telling us they liked to be warmed up before laying down some gnarly laps and even dirt dropping a couple times.

COMPETITION. We didn’t enter any of the comps they offered but we sure enjoyed watching them go down. They had a Parallel Parking Competition between two pumpkins as well as a Car Costume Competition. Even though these were just for fun, we still wanted to sit back and relax since we were solely there just to burn some tires with the team!!

NO DOORS. At the end of the day, we decided to do something a little different and run some laps without any doors. Wtf, you may ask? Well, our driver Nate decided it would make for some rad content for YOU GUYS so we did just that. I will say, riding in the passenger seat without any doors is quite the experience. Being able to see the actual track and feeling like you almost have the Chase car in your lap brings a whole different level of adrenaline and excitement! By the evening, Nate and Max were definitely showing how comfortable they were and getting waaaaaaaaaay too close for comfort allowing for a few love taps and “off track” occurrences. Needless to say, leaving the track with only a bent tie rod was a win in our book. Especially with ALL THE FUN the whole team had.

It was the perfect day. Perfect weather. Car was on point. Vibes were up. Smoke was in the air. It couldn’t have been any better! Without a doubt, we are going to try and make it out to this track for several occasions in the future. Knowing this is basically in “our backyard” how can we not?!
